Tour the NC Freedom Park Feb 17-28
Last October, the NC Freedom Park broke ground. This Black History Month, we want you to join us at the Park!
Bring your friends and family, engage in a self-guided tour Friday, February 19th – Sunday, February 28, and join us as we work to “Light The Beacon.” Here's how you can participate:
We ask that you visit: https://ncfmp.nationbuilder.com/donate and donate $50 or more. Once you donate, you are invited to visit the Raleigh Black Farmers Hub located at 1409 Cross Street Raleigh, NC 27610 to pick up a gift bag with locally made goodies, a “Light The Beacon” face mask, hot chocolate bomb, ceramic mug, and more. You can also check out the Black Farmers Hub and grab a complimentary cup of coffee.
Then go visit the site of the park, a prime location in the heart of our capital on the corner of Wilmington and Lane Street in Raleigh, NC. Look for the NC Freedom Park sign, take a photo or video, and post on social media with #NCFP, #NCFreedomPark, and #LightTheBeacon.
Learn more about the Park at ncfmp.org. Follow us on social media @NCFreedomPark.
Join us for our first virtual fundraiser on February 24th at 7 pm. Special guests include Congresswoman Alma Adams, Poet Laureate Jaki Shelton, Councilmember Pierce Freelon, and Dr. Goldie Wells. We will have a live performance by poet Dasan Ahanu. Click here to register for the event. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
